The Gantry Intelligent Anti-Collision System (hereinafter referred to as GIACS) is designed to provide automated monitoring and early warning of common loading and unloading accidents that may occur during the operation of a Radioisotope Thermo-electric Generator (hereinafter referred to as RTG). The GIACS is described below. GIACS is mainly used for collision avoidance when RTG traveling. Anti-collision refers to the identification of the forward direction, within a certain range, the lane range of all obstacles affecting the safety of the tire crane walking, in this range of obstacles larger than a certain size, are to be alarmed (deceleration) or triggered by an emergency stop (stop). The overall sensor system, mainly using machine vision recognition + laser measurement principle, pattern recognition and automatic control technology, can realize the GIACS function. Through the operation of the system, a series of multiple safety control strategies are formulated to ensure the operational efficiency of the site and at the same time, avoid collision accidents caused by human error or mechanical communication of the equipment.
